Drywall screws are used for fastening sheets of drywall to wall studs or ceiling joists. Compared to regular screws, drywall screws have deeper threads. This helps prevent the screws from being dislodged easily from the drywall.

Drywall screws are made of steel. In order to drill them into the drywall, a power screwdriver is needed. Sometimes plastic anchors are used together with drywall screws. They help balance the weight of a hung object evenly over the surface.

Hex bolts are a type of threaded bolt, characterised by their six-sided hexagonal-shaped head. Hex bolts can be either fully threaded or partially threaded (featuring a clear shank along part of the body) and are suitable for use in a wide range of applications, typically machinery and construction.

They are available in a choice of types, sizes, materials and finishes, providing the freedom and flexibility to select the bolt best suited to your particular task or application. Hex bolts are sometimes also known as hex head bolts or hexagon bolts, again due to their distinctive head shape.

A wall plug (UK English), also known as an anchor (US) or "Rawlplug" (UK), is a fibre or plastic (originally wood) insert used to enable the attachment of a screw in material that is porous or brittle or that would otherwise not support the weight of the object attached with the screw. It is a type of anchor that, for example, allows screws to be fitted into masonry walls. In US English, mentions of drywall anchors are sometimes meant (and taken) to refer specifically to the type of plastic wall plugs with expandable wings for hollow walls, in contradistinction with mollies and toggle bolts.

There are many forms of wall plug, but the most common principle is to use a tapered tube of soft material, such as plastic. This is inserted loosely into a drilled hole, then a screw is tightened into the centre. As the screw enters the plug, the soft material of the plug expands conforming tightly to the wall material. Such anchors can attach one object to another in situations where screws, nails, adhesives, or other simple fasteners are either impractical or ineffective. Different types have different levels of strength and can be used on different types of surfaces.

Whenever you need to gradually adjust the slack within a tensioning assembly, these handy rigging devices will be used. Also known as bottlescrews, the threaded metal couplings are used to connect and increase or decrease the length of ropes, tie rods, cable lines, and so on.

As with other fasteners, turnbuckles come in different variations in length, size, type, and configuration - each suitable for specific uses. There are three parts that make up a typical turnbuckle:

One rectangular body that has holes on either end – one side with right hand internal threads and the other with left hand internal threads.
Body sizes range in length from about two inches to over 12 inches. However, turnbuckles are measured by the length of their “window”, or take-up inside the body, rather than their entire length.
Two threaded inserts, or end fittings, that have either a hook, a clevis jaw, or an eye at the non-threaded side. A hook end fitting is self-explanatory, while an eye end fitting is a closed hook. The opening of a jaw end fitting is secured by a bolt, nut and/or pin system.
The thread diameter is an indication of the size, and therefore load-bearing capacity, of the threaded part of the inserts.
Instances where turnbuckles are used dictate that they must be able to withstand high forces without breaking. For that reason, most turnbuckles are made of galvanized or stainless steel. The type you choose will be determined by the factors that are most important to your assembly:

Galvanized steel turnbuckles are the cheaper of the two materials. Although they can be used outdoors, they are not nearly as corrosion resistant as their stainless steel counterparts.
Stainless steel turnbuckles are extremely resistant to rust and other forms of corrosion. This higher level of corrosion protection makes them a superior choice for outdoor applications and high moisture, high chloride, and saltwater environments. Bear in mind that demanding marine and coastal conditions require high-quality 316 grade stainless steel for safe and prolonged use.

Self-drilling screws are a type of screw used in a variety of fastening and fixing applications. Typically made from stainless steel, self-drilling screws are characterised by their drill-shaped point. This point enables the screws to drill into materials without the need for pre-drilled pilot holes, resulting in a more efficient fastening process.

Available in a range of sizes, lengths, and thicknesses, self-drilling screws are handy and versatile. They are sometimes also known as Tek screws. Tek was originally a brand name for a popular manufacturer of these screws, but over time, the name Tek screw has since become synonymous with this type of fastener.

Self-drilling screws can cut through a variety of materials including wood and metal such as softer steel. As a result of this, self-drilling screws are also ideal for more heavy-duty applications and industries, especially when compared to alternatives like self-tapping screws.
